Guadalmina is an area of large private residences surrounding the
Real Club de Golf de Guadalmina. This residential area is one of the
most exclusive in Marbella. It is divided into two zones: Guadalmina
Alta to the north, bordering the mountains, and Guadalmina Baja to
the south, with its beach.
Guadalmina is located between San Pedro and Estepona, and has the
last beach of Marbella in the western direction. It is 1,500 meters long
and about 25 meters wide, accessible to people with disabilities, and
is a family-friendly beach.
In 1926, Roman ruins from the 3rd century AD were found in
Guadalmina, better known as “Las Bóvedas.” This site corresponds to
a thermal building from the Roman era, located at the mouth of the
Guadalmina River.
The Guadalmina Golf Course opened its southern part in 1959. At the
time, few understood how a golf course could be created in an
agricultural area, but it was a huge success, and by 1965, it was
already hosting major tournaments, such as the Spanish
Championship. In 1973, the northern part of the golf course was
completed. Today, it is home to over 2,000 members from various
nationalities, enjoying a luxury social life.
Guadalmina offers hotels, restaurants, supermarkets, a private school,
a small chapel, medicales centers, dentists, pharmacies, a shopping
center, veterinarians, sports centers, and more. It has become an
area where spectacular villas and luxury vehicles can be found, but it
is particularly known for its privacy, tranquility, and discretion.
